Graffiti Alley 2023
Just a Graffiti Alley video I should have posted 3 years ago. June 16, 2023 11:34am.
Here is a description of the video in case you don’t wanna watch all 5 minutes.
This video provides a first-person (aka ME) walking tour through a vibrant alleyway completely transformed by urban art. The ground is paved but uneven, dotted with numerous water puddles that reflect the colorful walls and the overcast sky.
As the camera moves down the narrow corridor, it captures an overwhelming array of street art. Every inch of the brick walls, doors, and utility poles is covered in layers of spray paint. The styles range from complex, interlocking tag lettering to large-scale, detailed character murals. Early in the walk, the camera passes an eclectic mix of characters, including a purple alien-like figure with a square head and a large, stylized blue eye surrounded by the words “EAT YOUR GREENS” and sharp, monstrous teeth. Next to this is a colorful profile of a person with blue hair wearing a red hooded helmet.

The narrow alley occasionally opens up into wider sections that serve as small parking areas, allowing for even larger and more elaborate murals. In one such area, a massive piece features the word “CABSO” below the realistic, monochromatic portraits of three men. Nearby, a pink character resembling the Pokémon Mew stands next to stylized green and white lettering. Another prominent piece in this section is a detailed black-and-white portrait of a man’s face wearing a bright, jewel-studded crown, accompanied by the text “Gimme Da Loot!”.
The video concludes in another small clearing where a black motorcycle is parked. The walls here are decorated with lively, cartoonish blue characters, including one that looks like an animated washing machine with a long tongue. Dominating this final scene is a beautifully rendered, large-scale painting of a raccoon wearing a top hat. The raccoon is painted in cool teal and grey tones and is highlighted by a vibrant neon pink outline. Throughout the video, several pedestrians can be seen casually strolling through the alley, taking in the outdoor gallery.
