Talented Female Street Art Collaboration in Toronto

I got to meet @bkez (BAKERET ) yesterday afternoon ! I’ve posted two of her Traffic Signal Art boxes on here, as well as a cool mural that she did to the entrance of a Yoga Studio. I’ve also seen some of her chalk drawings and sticker slaps all around the city. It was so great to get to connect the actual person with her art ! she’s a very talented woman !

She organized an art project in Parkdale this week.. and I’ll copy this right from her account “Over the next week, 19 female artists will transform the laneway north of Queen St west between Lansdowne and Macdonell into a series of empowering murals!”

I’ll post more after they are all completed, which is this Sunday July 16 from 3-7pm all the artists will be there as well. If you are in the city – the alley is just behind the 2-4-1 Pizza.. (and no they won’t be serving pizza)

Thanks to all the artists for doing all this amazing work. Also, thanks for posing for my pictures and answering my questions.. it was so nice of everyone ! I can’t wait to see the completed versions, they all look so great already !

Selected Pictures from Art Mural Project

1) The first layout photo is @bkez on the top with her mural. She said that it was going to have some ‘text’ over the design. I’ll have to swing by Sunday to find out what that text is. Bottom right is @hello.kirsten who i’ve featured before on my account, it was so great to meet her as well. Bottom right is Courtney who was influenced by her travels to Guatemala.

2) @bkez again working on her mural

3) Courtney and she’s using her phone while she paints the rose in the middle of her design

4) A very cool design.

5) A motorbike. The artist was talking to someone else. so I didn’t want to interrupt.

6) This artist wasn’t around to talk about her work

7) Another artist that wasn’t available to chat. Hopefully, on Sunday they will be.

8) These ladies were so into their work I didn’t think I would interrupt them. Its really beautiful so far.

9) I went by here on Monday and there is a car always parked in this space and its obstructs two murals that had already been completed. Right side is @junekima.rt and left is @emilymayrose

10) The side of the @emilymayrose rose that gets blocked by that vehicle.
