When We Return Young Jarus Wall Mural

Young Jarus New Wall Mural

I walked up Lansdowne last week to see if I could find the Young Jarus mural that he did back in the winter… when this happened !

Literally I stumbled on him while he was working on his latest mural outside LALA Gallery.

Rodrigo was there filming with a drone and he explained to me very quickly what this program is all about.

In his own words:

“LA LA Gallery which is where we are right now has been celebrating an ongoing arts recognition program showcasing what the artists have been doing during this pandemic. And so the creator called her name is Claudia Lala she runs the LALA Contemporary Art for Latin American and local arts.

So basically she has launched this program that is called “When We Return” #whenwereturn and its highlighting local artists and how they have been coping with the pandemic and the challenges and at last the development of new art pieces. That’s what we are celebrating in the context of the public art year that was announced by the city. We want to contribute our seed to the many oceans of street art. Pending still to be created.”

All week I walked by this location so I could get some good progress shots.

Finally, today on June 6th I walked by and the lift was gone.. so I am thinking that he is all finished. I’ve noticed that he hasn’t been signing his last few murals like he used to. He also used to put the year ! hmmm..

Also I did find the mural that Young Jarus did back in February of this year. It appears to be a mural of his close friend Jason.

FYI, this is tucked away behind the Tim Hortons.
