Young Jarus for Mural Routes

For the past few weeks I’ve been semi-stalking this guy while he worked on this mural.
This is from 10 days ago while he was still working away on it on a life.

I wasn’t really stalking him.. but it’s in my neighbourhood so I made point of swinging by every few days to see how the work progresses and I am a fan of his work. It was really interesting to see it develops overtime.

He had issues with the weather as it turned really rainy for a long period of time. Plus, it got a lot colder during this period. But like the mailmen – these guys work through all sorts of weather and sometimes into the night.

The first time I swung by I actually didn’t get to see Jarus at all but ended up meeting the man who is documenting the entire development project – funny how things like that happen.

Then, just last Saturday I popped by again.. I thought I had missed him as he wasn’t on the lift.. I had gotten accustomed to sort of waving and giving him a thumbs up. After I took a few snaps I turned around and noticed he was taking a break right behind me. So I actually had chance to talk to him for quite a long time.

I found out that this is the same woman who appears in another mural on the same street. I had posted back in February of this year. It was of a woman sitting down holding a cup of coffee with a cat in frame. Very just that particular ‘moment in time’ art.

He’s a really interesting and very humble guy. It was great to finally chat with him. FYI.. He uses both aerosol and paint in his work.

I have another photo of the completed mural that I will post later. Looking forward to seeing more of his work.

Mural by Muisca

From October 12th by @_muisca_ the latest in Toronto by this artist.

From her instagram account she says: “|????????My latest baby on Bloor Street is full of Muisca love and good vibes for my Toronto people???????? Huge thanks to @artinkcollective for the invite ????””

This is outside of a tattoo and piercing studio entrance. The shop is run by George Martinez & Beatrice Costa Bell. I don’t know the history of that wall but I have seen areas like that covered with stickers and graffiti. Its a good way to draw attention their business as well as preventing graffiti.

Judging from her Instagram stories —she is back in Bogota, Colombia – she likes her cat ! Sometimes she pays for accommodation by painting art.. Which I think it a great idea. Oh.. and she really likes her cat ! ????

This type of art is much more common in South America. Which, I think is great as well. Much more refreshing than billboard advertisements that are so prevalent in USA and Canada.

Hope she comes back to Toronto. But I completely understand if she decides to pass on Canadian winter !
