Late July 2020 Street Art Finds

Like I said in my last post street art has pick up again. With Toronto finally being in Stage 3 some of the art projects have resumed. Not all of them but enough that the artists can at least paint again !

Julia Prajza Traffic Signal Box Artwork

Like I said in my last post street art has picked up again. With Toronto finally being in Stage 3 some of the art projects have resumed. Not all of them but enough that the artists can at least paint again !

Last month I was walking by on a very hot day and I stumbled upon Julia painting her traffic signal box in the blazing sun !!

I popped back a week later and checked out the finished result. Looks so fabulous !

She put a lot of thought into her design and she says on her account “Inspired by Toronto’s historical homes and their timeless stained glass windows.”

I’ve seen it a few times now and I really love her color choices… which she says are “Diva Glam, Thai Teal, Watermelon, Periwinkle, Peach Mimosa, and Indigo Batik.” Impressive !

Check out her account for more info and way better photos !

Jerry Rugg Garage Door Murals

This laneway was under construction for well over a year. Some of the murals are now gone but a few by Jerry Rugg are still intact. Think these were done back in 2016 – I remember posting them on Instagram back then. Also remember getting a lot of likes for them !

I discovered these canvasses right behind the garage fence – artist unknown.

Some people signed the placard she had right next to the artwork.

Coincidentally I came across this art by Emily May Rose shortly after I found the Natalie Very B artwork. They should collaborate !

Nick Sweetman Mural

So… I have only been out exploring for street art a handful of times this summer. Because of COVID obviously and because there weren’t that many new projects happening early this summer. However, the few times that I have gone out.. I have run into Nick Sweetman !! He’s everywhere !

I came back to check on the mural that he did a couple of weeks before and there he is again ! The dude never stops. Anyway.. there was a mural here by Birdo for years but it was tagged so Nick and his crew were making a new mural in its place.

Design by Nuff Mural

This was tagged really badly last year so I was really happy to see that Design by Nuff has fixed it up.

Jeremy Lynch Wheatpaste

I found this right in front of the “Design by Nuff”. Jeremy Lynch has started adding color to his artwork.
