Mark Reinhart Health & Safety Notes

Mark Reinhart Health & Safety Notes Street Art

I’ve been finding these duct tape messages all over Parkdale and Queen West in just the last couple of days…

From their website:

Colourful messages written in duct tape adorn the sides of public and private buildings throughout the neighbourhood of Parkdale and wander down Queen West. Created in collaboration with organizations and residents in the Parkdale community, these temporary public art installations help people remember, be seen, and communicate their fears, wonderings, anxieties, and hopes in a COVID-19 reality. The notes allow us to speak to each other while maintaining physical distance, and are a way of staying connected during a time when connecting with one another can seem strange and fleeting.

They have been updating their map which you can find below.

‘SWITCH GEARS FOR THE GREATER GOOD’ Graffiti

This was the first one that I found:

Then I found this one.

‘IF YOU GET QUIET ENOUGH, WHAT DO YOU HEAR?’ Graffiti

There were actually 2 at this spot but I missed the second one – so I will have to go back soon. This is the same laneway where @bkez had her first Womxm Paint Toronto Project back in 2017. Bareket posted it in her story – so I have to give her a shout out for telling me what it is all about !

‘ART BUILDS SPACES AND PLACES, FOR EVERYONE’ Graffiti

Found this today outside of 1313 Queen St West – which is at “Gallery 1313 is a non-profit, artist-run centre exhibiting local, national and international contemporary art.”

‘COMMUNITY BENEFITS, UNLIMITED’ Graffiti

Never realized that this is the Toronto Media Arts Centre !

“INVENT THE FUTURE’ Graffiti

Another building that I pass by and never knew what it was. It’s called “the Theater Centre’ –

“The idea of “inventing the future” is not new to The Theatre Centre. In fact, the phrase is embedded in our mission and is central to what we do”
