Miriam Garfinkle Laneway
Another Street Art Toronto Project. This was from their Instagram:
October 17 & 18th from 9am to 6pm as 30 artists transform Miriam Garfinkle Lane with murals inspired by flight of the winged ones.
This special project celebrates the memory of Miriam Garfinkle (1954–2018), a beloved social justice activist known for her deep commitment to community, nature, and bringing people together. Through vibrant imagery of birds, movement, and flight, these murals will help beautify the laneway while reflecting the importance of nature in our city.
14 of the 28 participating artists are Indigenous.
This laneway artist project is co-curated by Jakarundi Graphics (@jakarundigraphixs) and Ringfire Productions.

She said on her Instagram:
Theme was Flight of the winged ones, art will reflect the importance of nature in our city and beautify the laneway with imagery of flight and flying. This project celebrates the memory of Miriam Garfinkle (1954-2018), a social justice activist who had an extraordinary gift for bringing people together; she lived on Barton Ave for many years!
I didn’t know this was happening until it was actually happening. So I went the day after and even saw a couple of artists still painting.
End of October is usually when you will find some of the projects like this happening before the chill of November comes and of course the winter after that.
Don’t know many of these artists.
They seem to have added their IG – so it makes it easy for people to find them.
FYI I haven’t been posting IG accounts not because I don’t like the artists.. Rather I don’t like the whole ‘Metaverse’ thing.. its kinda scary.
Anyway I there is an artist that you wanna know just ask me and I will let you know.
