Munny Gallery Exhibit Local Artists

Munny Gallery Exhibit by Local Artists

I don’t normally post gallery art.. unless they are done by street artists.. and these Munnys are all apart of an art show put on by Hashtag gallery. It’s also been so cold outside.. that I welcomed being indoors..

and for those who don’t know.. a Munny is according to Wiki:

“A Munny is a figure made out of vinyl with movable joints. The figures are blank and the owner can decorate them using pens, pencils, markers, paint, and other supplies. Alternatively, some people commission artists to design Munnys for them, or artists design them to sell. The initial idea was undertaken by taggers/ street artists/ street art designs and toys from (illegal artists) who have come to bring back their work legally to the public to display their works.”

I was trying to figure out whether to show the Munny first or not.. but I think I’ll show the murals first and their Munny creations after

PoserABM Graffiti Character

PoserABM Graffiti Character

There’s PoserABM famous Bunny character. He looks friendly but I bet just like Bugs Bunny that he could do some ‘Wascally Wabbit’ debauchery. This particular rabbit was seen in graffiti alley.. but I saw at least 4 other bunnies in that same alley.

Erica Balon AKA EGRArt Mural

Erica Balon completed this mural in October of last year.. this is what she says about it on her Instagram account:

I call this piece, ‘Reach for the Skies’; it’s the largest mural I’ve ever painted at 3 stories high and 50’ long. It is quite a challenge getting a good photo without cars in the way, plus there is so much construction in the area right now (College West at Dufferin) it’s nearly impossible! I’d like to go back on a sunny day and get a pic with reflections of clouds in the windows. I like how there is a reflection of birds in flight in one of the windows. Thank you so much for all of your support and sweet comments on the final piece! Means so much to me as this piece was super challenging, working with @montana_colors water based paint. It did take longer than regular spray paint to dry, meaning if I knew it was going to rain that day I would need to give it extra time to dry. Or it would run! ????I really have to put my health first these days tho. And it felt good each day to have a clear head and not be ‘fumed out’. Hope you’re all having a great start to the week!

This smaller mural “I Heard I Was Nice” was right next to the one he did of Frida Khalo that I posted before.
