Bruno Smoky & Shalak Attack Aerosol Mural

ClandestinosArt Aerosol Mural

Had the pleasure of seeing @shalakattack & @brunosmoky back in July working on this new mural in Vanier ! It was one of the warmer days of the summer and they were both out there painting in the hot sun. However, they took a brief break to say hello and it so great to see them again !

I went back last week to see the finished mural and it looks really incredible (as al; their work is !). There was a parked vehicle in front when I first arrived but believe it or not the driver moved out of the way for me. Thankfully, I was able to get a bunch of photos with an unobstructed view !

If you are in the Ottawa area.. you gotta check this out.. ! 👏 👏 👏

The Polarbear is tucked away at the end of the mural.

Bruno’s Statement

“Through several community conversations we were touched and inspired by not only the many incredible cultural and historic elements that represent the Vanier community, but also the strength and resilience that truly makes the people and place a treasure. We were deeply moved throughout the process, guided by community leaders, indigenous elders, energetic youth, and so many people from diverse backgrounds that shared their stories and energy of resilience!!

Nature was at the foundation of what the Vanier told us would represent everyone in a peaceful and unifying way.

We hope you all love the final images as much as we do! It has been beautiful to part take in this amazing conversation with all the Vanier community and making this mural such a collaborative story!

Shalak Attack was painting this section when I arrived.
Bruno Smoky was working on the lift in the hot July sun and posed for me !
Each section of the mural tells a story.
Amazing artwork
The bridge in the mural is an actual bridge in the Ottawa Area
That car moved out of the way so I could take a picture

So glad they did because the mural is gorgeous !
