Kevin Ledo Leonard Cohen Mural
Another portrait but this one is of Leonard Cohen and it is by the amazing Kevin Ledo, who does fantastic portraits – many of Canadian icons.
According to Wiki “Leonard Norman Cohen CC GOQ (September 21, 1934 – November 7, 2016) was a Canadian singer-songwriter, poet, and novelist. His work explored religion, politics, isolation, depression, sexuality, loss, death and romantic relationships.”
I just zoomed in on this picture the other day and I noticed that someone has tagged “je déteste les jours du je ñ’aime plus rien” on the top of that building. Google translates this into “I hate the days of I don’t love anything anymore”. Is that a Leonard Cohen lyric ?

RONE Mural
I was sooo excited to see this mural in person as I’ve seen pictures of it on Instagram for years.
I didn’t get to take that many photos myself because I was just taking it all in. Unfortunately, a car came by (as they always do) when I did finally decide to snap 📷 it messed up my vantage point. That was ok.. because it was just exciting to see in person … FINALLY !
& Even though there’s a few tags at the bottom.. its well preserved after almost 8 years.
From his website:
“Finding the friction point between beauty and decay is a thread that runs through much of Rone’s work. As a street artist best known for his haunting, stylised images of women’s faces, he understands better than most that beauty can be fleeting. Seeing his artworks gradually worn away by natural and human elements has taught him to appreciate the unexpected beauty of an image as it begins to blend back into its more prosaic surroundings.”
RONE
And when I posted these snaps in my story yesterday.. he liked it ! 😀
