Early December 2020 Urban Exploration Murals

Early December 2020 Urban Exploration Murals

Sorry for the delay .. but here are some more street art finds from 2020. Surprisingly December was a good month not only weather wise but for finding some great murals and graffiti !

Random Street Art

I was trying to figure out when these murals were done. I think they have been done at different intervals.

After a Google search I found a Blogto article that was written in June of 2010 !

The writer doesn’t really give any insight about the artwork.. but it was good to know that they have been around that long.

Unfortunately, there is yet another condo development slated for this particular corner. So not only will we lose these building.. but we will lose the street art that goes with it.

TuffyTatts Truck Street Art

I was taking pictures of this artwork on the side of that truck when the owner came out and couldn’t stop talking about the art. He loves the way the sunlight hits on certain days.

You can see how he is using the truck to go with his garden display. He was so happy to talk about the art you wouldn’t believe !

MoonMan Mural

Completely random mural behind the Parkdale library. That’s a really good spot to check out.. It’s a little bit like a smaller version of Graffiti Alley for the west end.

Roses Paste Up

Not sure if this is apart of “Parkdale Window Project” but it was in the window of the Parkdale Library.

“The artworks are placed in businesses all along Queen West (between Roncesvalles Ave . and Dufferin St.) and are presented as an art crawl, encouraging people to explore Queen West to see the works. The businesses featuring artwork have a logo featured to signify they are part of the project as well as a link to a map on our website showing all of the businesses involved.”

Agata Derda Traffic Signal Box

Another one of the newer traffic signal boxes that are actually vinyl. This is by Agata Derda. I’m not a total fan of these because I prefer the ones that are hand painted. However, as you can see by the tagging on the photo – it’s really by necessity. That tag is no longer there thanks to the vinyl !

Keeping busy during the pandemic is Emily Mae Rose who worked on the first mural on the left back in the spring. Emily partnered with Hungr for the second mural on the right.

Clandestinos Traffic Signal Box

One of my faves of the traffic signal boxes by Clandestinos art. This one is directly in front of Toronto Public Health and the Safe Injection Site is located there. It was literally imposible to see it for months because of the fencing around it – until now.

It’s hand painted but still looking fresh.

Elicser Elliott Mural

Pretty much the mural king of Queen St is Elicser Elliot. You can’t not see his work .. all along that stretch.

This one is a tribute to Breonna Taylor. Someone came out of that door when I took that picture.. she totally surprised me !

I’ve seen a couple of murals near High Park in that same style.

Faces Garage Door Mural

I just posted this one on my Instagram. Really really love it. Have no idea who did it. There is something truly captivating about it.

This mural is right across from the faces one.

You would not believe how many people ask me if I paint garage doors ! I don’t.. but I will try and connect you with someone who does !
