It is my absolute pleasure to introduce HOMEWORK, a collaborative art 'show' featuring 23 of Toronto's finest artists. This book is available for free download from my website (link in my bio), and I encourage any colour-ers out there to tag #HOMEWORKCB with your completed pages. Have fun! . Huge thank you to all the artist for their contributions and @notnoreen for the help getting this out there. . Letter From The Curator: . This colouring book comes as a response to the social distancing and quarantining times that we currently find ourselves in. Staying at home is one of the best choices we can make to help those around us, and this book will hopefully allow that time to pass a little easier. . Toronto is home to some of the best painters, illustrators, and designers in the world. I’ve always been in awe of artists and their ability to create entire stylistic universes that we, as viewers, can visit. Each artist featured in this book is someone who I have been fortunate enough to spend time with, and paint or exhibit alongside. They have clocked immeasurable amounts of time in studios and on walls, perfecting their particular skill set, and have taught me valuable lessons in composition, technical prowess, and sheer ingenuity. I am so very grateful that they were willing to contribute their work to this project on such short notice. Through their generosity, this project is offered without cost. If you enjoy this book, I encourage you to reach out share feedback to any or all of these talented individuals – I know they’d love to hear from you. . Wherever this book finds you, please continue supporting local artists, so that we may continue making beautiful things. . -Jeff Blackburn . . @alexgarantart @ansermysteriousdate @ben_johnston @jerryrugg @brunosmoky @cmazzulla @elicserelliott @emilymayrose @hotsnackz @thejeffblackburn @hello.kirsten @markliamsmith @mediah @nessleee @nick_sweetman @pauljacksonlives @peru143 @richardahnert @mr_scott_waters @shalakattack @thatlosersmolik @mistersoy @amancalledspazz . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #colouringbook #artshow #artgallery #digitalgallery #blackandwhite #inkwork #ink #linework #design #colouring #draw #drawing

So Jeff Blackburn put together this colouring book with his street artist friends ! How cool is that ? You can download it from his personal website.

I downloaded it and it’s a PDF with 25 pages. He says that is a response to social distancing and it will help pass the time. What a great idea.

Jeff Blackburn Feature Artist

That gave me the idea to do a post with his street art that I have found over the years.

Check out his Instagram but make sure you visit his official website:

Jeff Blackburn is a multidisciplinary artist with over a decade of experience producing and exhibiting projects. The thematic core of Blackburn’s work is an introspective exploration of personal connection, with individual exhibitions directed to more specific concepts such as social dynamics, and isolation.

Drawing inspiration from both sequential art and the graffiti/post-graffiti movements, his work is known for its emphasis on line and texture, and its dissection of form using interpretive contour lines. Paintings are constructed by merging pop art aesthetics with urban art materials and techniques.

His work can be found in numerous privately owned art collections, as well as corporate collections such as those of BMW and Live Nation.

Jeff Blackburn 146 Ossington Murals

146 Ossignton is a bit of a hangout for some of the street artists. They use this location for Secret Walls that Jeff participated back in 2018.

Jeff Blackburn is a fixture here and I have run into several times usually interrupting his work ! But he is always gracious and tells me what he’s working on.
