July 2020 Urban Exploration Artwork Finds

July 2020 Street Art Exploration

I haven’t been updating my site as much as I usually do this time of year. COVID-19 has had an impact on the street art scene as well as everything else. A lot of the large murals projects have been put on hold or cancelled altogether.

Thankfully over the past couple of weeks there I’ve seen a slow bubble of activity. Most of the recent murals I discovered are put together by the artists themselves but a few have some corporate sponsors.

Even though it’s disappointing that 2020 won’t be the best ever year for street art – I am very happy that there are some new and amazing projects finally happening !!!!

Ben Johnson Mural

The king of typography Ben Johnson with “Today is a good day”.

Amazing what he can do with text !

Alec Monopoly Mural

I’m including this by Alec Monopoly because I am surprised that it’s still there. It was done back in 2016 ! Usually his art gets tagged but this one has been spared.

Burger King Art

I have no idea who did this but it’s the window at the Burger King on College ! So amazing and so creative !

Birdo & AlfAlfA Collaboration

So sad that I didn’t get to see them working on this ! AlfAlfA and Jerry Rugg make a perfect combo.

The mural that was here before was starting to see the effects on Canadian winters. It’s really nice to see a new mural at this location.

Flips BSC

This guy puts his swirls everywhere you look. I found these new ones by Flips tucked away at the entrance of a building on Dundas.

Toronto Collective Compound Wall Art

COVID-19 closed up Toronto Collective but I took a peak around back and snuck into their “compound’.

When they are open they have guest artists paint on these walls.

Hiero Veiga Mural

I was glad that this one by Hiero Veiga was still up from last year.

Mony Mural

Found this new one by Mony in Kensington Market.

Yung Yemi Wheatpaste

A new wheatpaste by Adeyemi Adegbesan that is the same as the one that he put up in Graffiti Alley.

Jeremy Lynch Wheatpaste

Some new pastes by Jeremy Lynch. Someone tagged his work but he doesn’t like cars either so he wasn’t upset.

Viv Mural

One from last year that just says “viv’ on the right hand corner.

Alex Bacon Tribute Mural

This mural by Alex Bacon covered up a mural that he did last year with Hiero Veiga. It’s now a tribute to his friend.

Best Doubles Mural

I messed this up because I didn’t move that flag over so I don’t know who the artist is ! I will be back!

Updated it’s a collaboration:

Ness Lee Mural

I think I have posted this one by Ness Lee before but I don’t think I got a picture of the entire mural. This is an art gallery and usually when I go by the window is open ! But because of COVID – the gallery was closed.

Luvs Mural

Found this new on by Luvs in Kensington.

Elicser Elliot Mural

Another new find by Elicser Elliot in graffiti alley.

Timmy Drift Mural

A black lives matter piece by Timmy Drift.

Eye of the Abyss Sticker

Found this really cool sticker also in graffiti alley… have no idea who did it.

Bike Mural

I always see this mural in this alley north of Queen. It says “Klaar Vandalz 4evah’ on the right side. It’s been there a long time. The motorbike just works with the entire thing !
