You Can’t Stop Graffiti
“You can’t stop the nature of art and expression”
Found this bit of inspiration on the way to check out the Central Hospital Laneway Murals. Thought it was appropriate.

Wasn’t sure whether to post this one. This particular wall has been through many transformations in the last couple of years.

SBU ONE Sticker Art
Noticed this sticker art in Roncesvalles but didn’t realize at the time that this artist is based in Montreal.
I’ve noticed a few of SBU ONE’s murals in Montreal.

Spend Less Sticker Art
Another sticker that I noticed but this one was in Liberty Village. I’ve seen a few with that particular style but I still do not know who the artist is.
Rise Above Sticker Art
Another message but this has Henry Rollins face on it. At least he looks like Henry Rollins to me !

Central Hospital Laneway Artwork Makeover
I walked by this area back in May and noticed Monica and Miigizi working on their first mural just off of Carlton. I came back in July to see the finished project.
From the Laneway Project Instagram Account:
“Toronto’s first healing corridor with a massive storytelling mural, a series of murals by emerging young Indigenous artists, and a set of healing gardens planted with native medicinal species”
Laneway Project
Monica Wickeler Mural
Online — Monica Wickeler goes by ‘Monica on the Moon‘. You might not recognize her name but she is behind several street art projects. She paints as well. On her Instagram profile she says “Old school commercial mural painter who has fallen for aerosol and community-based public art.”
Miigizi Mural
This artist was working with Monica on the lift but he has a lot of murals all over Toronto.
Duncan MGuire Mural
Not familiar with this artist but this mural is apart of the Central Hospital Laneway Project. It’s worth checking out if you are in the area.
Ancestral Intelligence Mural
Quinn Hopkins has a website that explains his artwork and who he is as an artist.
FieldofWonder Mural
This artist has a private Instagram account so I don’t know much about their art.
Laneway Project Placard
I spotted this placard on the wall and didn’t realize that Michelle Senayah passed away. She was the Founder and Director of the Laneway Project.
CBC Article
The CBC posted an article about this project that explains everything better than I can.
“Healing gardens located along the Central Hospital Lane have been planted with native, traditional medicinal and edible plant species and pay homage to Dr. Oronhyatekha, one of Canada’s first licensed medical practitioners and a Mohawk physician and scholar.””
