Construction Site Murals as part of a collaboration with several graffiti aerosol artists outside of project in Regent park that is in the east end Toronto
Temporary artwork project
December 14, 2015
On a construction site back then and I took these pictures really quickly because there was.. well.. a lot of trucks and construction going on. I went to see if it was still there last week and I couldn’t find it. So, it must have been temporary…(a lot of condos have popped up here)
Its by @javid_jah and I honestly don’t know if its a collaboration or not — some of the art looks a little different on a few of the panels. Again, I took these really quickly back then and I didn’t know much about street art in 2015. I just thought it looked interesting… (hoping that either @tara_snit or @homestreethome21 assist !) .
.
One of the panels says.. “The resistance must be peaceful & creative. Don’t stop, my family”. Which, is why I am going to dedicate this one to the people of Venezuela I didn’t realize how many people I was following from there until the last couple of days. Normally, its pictures of buildings, art and the beach etc.. Today, it was not any of those things
. —– Distributing Description Ahead ——- Today, there was a lot of graphic distributing violence that was happening in that country. I saw a lot of people being beaten, images of tanks with guns being fired !! I don’t speak Spanish and I clicked some hashtags by accident and saw a really shocking video of a man who had been shot and his body was twitching uncontrollably. There were police nearby and they didn’t do a thing to help him. Finally, he stopped moving and then after awhile they put him on a stretcher and carried him away. I got choked up after seeing that.
Made me realize how lucky I am to live in Canada Back in 2010 the G20 was here and there were people protesting over the entire weekend. There were some people beaten up and a lot were arrested. Some burnt police cars and smashed windows downtown. But that was nothing compared to what I saw in Venezuela today. No comparison.
I guess that’s the power of social media it brings other parts of the world right to your phone I don’t know if even bringing this helps or not
