Toronto Street Art Finds November 2015

So…. I won’t say that I have totally given up on the Toronto Street Art scene.. because I haven’t. But there really hasn’t been as much to capture in the last year or so.. Street art that is new anyway. There’s been a few here and there but not like back in 2019.

If you were to compare the street art in TO to Montreal .. Toronto is far behind… but if you were to compare Toronto to Ottawa then its not so bad.. but Ottawa is catching up.

With that — I thought it would be a good idea to archive some of the murals & graffiti that I have enjoyed over the last almost a decade now. I have soooo many photos.. that it gets really hard to sort them sometimes.

I loaded a YouTube video this week and I put the photos that I took starting in November of 2015.

I thought Youtube is better because Instagram and Facebook is so controlled by algorithms that seem designed to make you pay to ‘promote’. And why would I pay to promote pictures of graffiti ? Same with Twitter. Tiktok I really feel like its designed to be an overload of viral video.

Tumblr — I have posted a fair bit of images but it is isn’t as popular as it used to be. Plus, people grab images from there and repost it as their own. Which isn’t a big deal because it’s graffiti.. but stil.. argh !

A few high lights from this collection of over 300 images

Jarus Graffiti

I remember finding this in Parkdale and wondering who would write their names on a garage door like this !? Two years later I would meet him.

Elliott Elicser Mural

This mural was on the side of the Tranzac Club for a long long time. Eliscer painted a new one that I have documented on this site.

Colin Tea Garage Door Mural

This mural was painted over shortly after I took this photo.

Uber5000 Mural

This mural was tagged and it made me sad. I used to walk by this mural almost daily for years. It kinda became such a familiar sight that I still miss it all years later.

Young Jarus Mural

This mural was painted over a few months after this photo was taken. It was a really cool collab by Jarus and Persue1
