Nick Sweetman Garage Door mural off of Ossington Ave. The aerosol spray artwork was done back int 2016 in a back alley in the west end of downtown Toronto
Doctor Strange Aerosol Spray Artwork
The last video I posted on Saturday featured @nick_sweetman working on his bee mural… and he commented on it… !
Then, just yesterday afternoon, I found his garage door that he did almost 6 months ago. I noticed it a couple of weeks ago.. but it was across the street and it was -8C outside…and I didn’t realize that it was his work… .
.
Thankfully, the weather was better yesterday and I was on the same side of the street… I couldn’t believe that it was by him… Its very different than his other murals… It’s really cool… .
.
From his account he says this: “Just finished this garage door in a laneway just off Ossington near queen. The owner requested a mural of Dr. Strange from Marvel comics. Fun times!” .
.
I’ve chatted with him briefly on here and like his namesake.. he honestly, sounds like a ‘nice guy’.. .
.
So, glad to have discovered this ! .
This is the first garage door that I have discovered by this artist. He tend to work on larger murals including the two huge bee murals. One of his bee murals in on Bloor and the other is in the east end of the city on Queen St E.
Recently, Nick Sweetman organized a huge group of artists to paint garage doors in Garrison Park. I featured this garage door with the dog from Tin Tin and a butterfly.
The other artwork by him that I have featured is his project by Gerrard and Sherbourne where he painting insects on the side of a construction site. The construction site is waiting for the toxins from a former petrol station to work through the earth..
A lot of his art seems to be dedicated to insects and their importance to the environment. He also has a #savethebees hashtag that I have seen around town.
