Graff Murals Sticker Slaps April 2016

Little Starchild Sticker Slap

LittleStarChild is an artist who is based out of Montreal. When she comes to Toronto she leaves some of her sticker slaps around. A lot of her work deals with feminist issues. Some deal with rape and misogyny.

This is one of the first that I found by her and I didn’t know who she was at the time. I don’t even remember where I found this. It’s a wheat paste of a book in french that talks about women. It says “pas vraiment” which translates into “not really” in English from French.

Kleeshay Graffiti

Kleeshay is an artist used to write a lot of sayings on walls just this this. This says “i think ill be famous cus i think ill be famous”. I haven’t seen any of his graffiti in a long time now.

This wall has a mural on it now… but that mural has since been tagged.

Shalak Attack & Fiya Bruxa Mural

This mural was created by two sisters Shalak Attack & Fiya Bruxa and they called it “Angry Witches”.. Unfortunately, it was defaced with graffiti.. however the two sisters created another mural with an even more powerful message behind the artwork.

NEVER GIVE UP! NI UNA MENOS" by @shalakattack and her sister @fiyabruxa This is a replacement mural. I never realized their history with this particular wall. This is the third mural by them at this same spot over the last 5 years. Reading on her account — she says the original mural was defaced and the one that replaced it was called "Angry Witches". (I really loved that Witches mural btw). I had no idea that the Witches mural was about the "empowerment for young girls and women everywhere". . . A vigil was held at this location earlier this year she says for 40 women who were victims of fire at a women's shelter in Guatemala. Unfortunately, that second mural was defaced about a month ago. I'll quote from her account "So here we are at out latest creation dedicated to the rebirth of the women spirit not letting herself be erased but boldy echanting this world with Truth and LOVE. We will not stay quiet. BRUXAS NEVER GIVE UP! NI UNA MENOS. For all of our voices united against Violence against Women Everywhere". . . . People including myself don't realize that a lot of the art that we see… it has so much meaning behind it. You see a mural on the street & you take a picture & most of the time …. that's it. We don't appreciate how much time and effort goes into these works of art. Thank you Shalak Attack for explaining this mural. Its even more powerful now. ???? ____________ #womeninart #art #mural #muralsdaily #womanart #spraycanart #Graff #graffitiporn #streetartists #streetart #streetartist #streetartistry #aerosol #spray #sprayartist #urban #wallgraffiti #wallporn #urbanart #ihaveathingforwalls #exploretocreate #artmural #graffiti #instagraffiti #instagraff #graffitiart #sprayart #instaart  #spraypaint  #aerosolart

This “Hug Me” tree by Elicser Elliot has been around forever. Currently, there is construction going on in the area. The last time I walked by this tree was being protected by some plywood. I hope they leave it intact.

Greg Mike & Big Teef Mural

Greg Mike & Big Teef

This was a collab done by two street artists from the USA – Greg Mike and Big Teef. I think they were brought here for a special project by Toronto Collective back in 2015

I got a better picture of it more recently even though I posted it on my Instagram already.

???? "STAY POSITIVE" collaboration by GREG MIKE @gregmike & BIGTEEFF @bigteeff for @torontocollective  done back in 2015 .. I actually posted another photo of this back in 2016.. but I finally got a better picture without the car. . . I am going to repost it today.. because its "Blue Monday" – the most depressing day of the year. They say its because of the post xmas blues and the weight gain (I did notice my pants felt a little snug today) and the gloomy winter weather.. . . Apparently, the first one was on January 24th, 2005 and they even have a mathematical equation to mark the official date. Others say the "concept has no foundation in scientific research." . . . All I can say is "Stay Positive" – 63 days until spring ! ___________ #streetartiseverywhere #urbanart #streetartists #spayartist #sprayart #aerosolartist #aerosolart #urbanexploration #urbanwandering #streetartofficial #wallgraffiti #mural #muralartists #muralart #graffiti #graffitiporn #graffiticharacter #wanderlust #createexplore #exploretocreate #urbanart #ihaveathingforwalls #peoplescreative #freedomthinkers #staypositive #createexploretakeover #exploreeverything #instagraffiti #spraydaily #urbanwalls #streetartphotography

I pass by this all the time as well. I don’t know why .. but I really like it.. I don’t think that homeowner would feel the same way. Some graffiti has a sense of humour.
