Bruno Smoky or who just tends to go by ‘Smoky’ is one of my favourite artists that works in the city of Toronto.

He came here from Sao Paulo, Brazil and is based from Canada. The work is very impressive. I was fortunate enough to get to meet him briefly last month as he worked on a wall mural with his wife Shalak Attack.

What I like most about his work is the depth… Its very dark and sometimes even scary and it places him a different realm than most other street artists that I have noticed.

He doesn’t do the normal ‘pretty pictures’ that other artists do.. including the ones that are done by his wife. He takes a road not most travelled which is what draws me toward his work. It stands out and although, the themes that he presents can be dark and gloomy they are what people should be paying attention to.. like the environment !!
