I was trying to figure out how to explain this.. poetry and interesting art finds aren’t the most Instagram friendly. I’ll just try and explain this the best as I can.
February 18th
It was nice and sunny Monday afternoon (which was a holiday btw). It was only -7C (19F) and it was way colder with the windchill but as long as it’s sunny outside.. you can deal with the cold. Anyway, I decided to go the park when I had been exercising most of the summer and autumn. It snowed the night before.. so it makes everything look fresh.
At the top of the stairwell.. I noticed from the distance what appeared to be sign attached a tree. I’ve seen that particular tree hundreds of times.. so I knew something was different. When I got to the bottom of the stairs I realized it was an art installation.
The framed art contains a poem and it was secured to a tree. There was some wires and a button. I pushed the button but nothing happened. I thought it was pretty brilliant even without the light which must have run outta batteries.
The rest of the pictures in this post are all from the area where I found this.
Later Monday evening I looked up “Darker than Black” on Instagram who is a “Visual poet “.. and they have posted this back at the end of January.. I reposted their video for the last series in this post… so that you can see how it lights up.
I love finding stuff like this.. It’s really creative and original.. Two Thumbs Up for Darker Than Black.. I look forward to finding more poems in unexpected places !
