Garage Door Murals Plus Graff 09/2017

These are some of my street art and graffiti find from the month of September 2017. I will have to divide this up into a couple of posts – at least. I found a lot of artwork back in September. The weather was pretty good that month, after all the rain we had in the summer.
Good weather makes for good urban exploration.

Birdo Garage Door

Toronto Street Art Graffiti
Jerry Rugg calls this “One-Trick Pony”. I thought it was a horse. From his Instagram account looks like he finished this back on August of 2015. Its neat the 3-D kinda look on both sides of the structure. The legs of the animal blend into the ground. From my picture you can see that the paint on the ground has eroded over time.
Back on the original photo from his account you can see the legs clearly.

Jeff Blackburn Garage Door

Toronto Street Art Graffiti
Moose by Jeff Blackburn. This looks like from his Instagram account that he did this mural back in June of 2014. This is actually right across from the Birdo mural.

He’s got a shot of the alley way that this in from 2014.
I didn’t realize that he used to be a bartender at the Drake. On his account he says that he left his job at the Drake to work full time as an artist.

Socket Graffiti

Toronto Street Art Graffiti
This is the type of graffiti that you find in the alleyway. This was next to the Birdo mural above.

Jacqueline Comrie Garrido Wall Mural

Toronto Street Art Graffiti
I posted this by Jacqueline Garrido back in September already.. but its the middle of the winter now.. so color therapy is much needed.

She has a few shots of her working on it during the summer. The rain that we had all summer made it difficult to work outdoors. I think it must have rained almost everyday in July and August.

Jordan War Garage Door

Toronto Street Art Graffiti
Garage door by Jordan War that I posted back in October but I found in September.
I can’t find this on his account but I was told by another artist that this is his work.
He appears to be mostly a tattoo artist.

Timmy Drift Graffiti

Toronto Street Art Graffiti
Graffiti by Timmy Drift in that same alleyway as the one above. He didn’t credit himself.. but his graffiti character is easily recognizable. He uses a lot of blue with these interesting faces.

The graffiti below is all in that same alley. I should have taken a wide shot to show how much graffiti in located here.

Haha Graffiti

Toronto Street Art Graffiti
“Haha You’re all the same” graffiti on a garage door.

I understand Graffiti

Toronto Street Art Graffiti
“I understand” graffiti. I’ve seen that “I understand” graffiti tag all over the city.
Then, someone else wrote “Whoever controls media controls your frail mind” on the same door.

Don’t Let This Ruin Your Day Graffiti

Toronto Street Art Graffiti
“Don’t let this ruin your day” graffiti on another graffiti door. Someone else has added to it by putting “Ok”.

Spray Graffiti

Toronto Street Art Graffiti
Again, in the same alleyway.. this character with a spray can tagging graffiti appears. At least this one is a little more interesting than the other graffiti.. but I doubt the homeowner was pleased.

Fuck Your Day up Graffiti

Toronto Street Art Graffiti
More from the same alley.. this garage door had to have been one of the most tagged with graffiti. So many expletives I’m not even going to repeat them all. You see a lot of the F word everywhere.. Not every original IMHO.

Happy Birthday Garage Door

Toronto Street Art Graffiti
This garage door looks like it was homemade. It says “Happy Birthday” with a “Welcome”. They must have made it for a present which is a nice thought. I am guessing here .. but since it was in that same lane way.. it was probably covered with graffiti before this artwork.

Birdo Garage Door

Toronto Street Art Graffiti
Finally, at the end of that huge and long laneway with all that graffiti with a few murals… I found another Jerry Rugg garage door at the end. It was kinda like going through a labyrinth and finding  a prize at the end.
From his account it was done back at the beginning of July and he called it “Year of the rooster(tail)”.
I should have taken a sideshot like this this account below.. because there is some art on the side as well:
https://www.instagram.com/p/BWhyDJWgoQn/?taken-by=streetviewto
And it was done.. you guessed it..  in the year of the Rooster

Balloon Man Garage Door

Toronto Street Art Graffiti
I think this is by DJ Fathom because that character looks similar to this one.

Sight Door Mural

Toronto Street Art Graffiti
This is near the ballon man mural. This artwork I believe is by Scieter

Cat Garage Door

Toronto Street Art Graffiti
I don’t know if that Cheshire Cat is by Scieter or not..
