Work In Progress Festival
One July 5th and 6th I managed to check out some of the art for the first Work In Progress Festival. The local news said that it might be Canada’s largest mural..
Anyway, I guess that this building used to be a shopping mall. It was scheduled to be torn down and turned into condos about 2 years ago. That didn’t happen so its been a big eye sore for the downtown area.
A street artist came up with the idea to turn into a mural so all these artists came to Hamilton on a very hot weekend to paint. Later its going to be featured for Supercrawl.
These are from day 1 of two.. so I don’t have all the names right now.. but I will in my second post
Bruno Smoky Mural

Managed to see and talk to Bruno who was painting this section next to his wife. He has another mural on the other side of the building.
Shalak Attack Mural

When I first went by Shalak was taking a break from painting and I this photo.
Works in Progress Festival Artists

It was very busy and there were a lot of artists from Toronto and from the Toronto area painting this wall.

Jumbleface Wheatpaste

You can find a lot of Jumbleface across the street from that mural. There’s a bunch of these wheat pastes by plenty of sticker artists.

Clear Eyes Art

I think that Clear Eyes Collective is a Hamilton based mural crew. Well I know that they are.. because I found their website
“CLEAR EYES COLLECTIVE is a creative crew based out of Hamilton, Ontario made up of members Darian Poisson, Adam Bates and Josh Kellett. Our mission is to integrate the mysterious power of art into the plain cityscape, transforming ordinary spaces into an immersive gallery.
