Some of the things that I have been finding in these alleyways have been under my nose the entire time. Huh… who would have thought ..
This must look really nice in the wintertime without that ivy.. I will have to remember to check back in 6 months or so. The ivy does make for a nice effect.

???? by Peru Dyer Jalea @peru143
This mural by Peru is just a little further down the lane from the pervious wall artwork.. It seems appropriate to post it right after.. They compliment each other nicely – terrific colors and beautiful designs.
From his personal website Peru says this:
“As a proponent of the ‘Graffuturism’ movement, much of Peru’s artistic energy today is dedicated to advancing the traditions of graffiti and mural art into new imaginative territory. The geometric complexity of his work—partially rooted, no doubt, in his early appreciation of Quechua textiles and ancient ruins—is made more readable by his simplified and saturated colour palette. For Peru, this commitment to the advancement and intermingling of graffiti and mural art is not opposed to tradition but involves, instead, an attempt to extend and enrich tradition. For Peru, artistic tradition is not a synonym for the out-dated or the unchanging. ‘Tradition’ for Peru refers to the living attempt to reflect the joy of the everyday in material works of art.
Peru currently calls Toronto ‘home’ where he lives with his beautiful wife and kids.
“Success is not the key to happiness; happiness is the key to success”.”
I still don’t know the meaning behind 143.. hopefully he will elaborate someday..

Live Life Experience
Managed to check out the American Express sponsored artshow last week as well… it was called “Live Life Experience”… this is from their news release
“In celebration of the launch, American Express is unveiling the Live Life Experience – a unique pop up art experience on Toronto’s Queen Street West. Backing a collective of local artists, Amex will bring life to some of the things Amex Cardmembers are most passionate about, such as travel & adventure, dining experiences, entertainment and simply having fun.”
Peru143 was apart of this.. his was art installation with the flags of different nations as well as an interactive map….
Alex Bacon was involved as well…
Bruno Smoky & Shalak Attack were there as well.. unfortunately, their art installation was darkly lit… so it was hard to get a good picture of it from my cellphone…
Jerry Rugg AKA Birdo was there as well..
Kirsten McCrea has a wall of her designs..
TroubleSomeTroy had a great installation as well.. you could actually climb inside some of these art pieces..
