Birdo Jerry Rugg is another street artist that is very prolific in the downtown core. His work is extremely visible in the west end.
The first time that I noticed his work was because of his large scale murals that appear with a bird like character. After googling Birdo, its character in a SuperMario video game which would explain the influences.
This artist has become extremely popular even doing a campaign with his Birdo character on a baseball complete with a mural.
He is somewhat mysterious, if you follow his Instagram feed he never posts pictures of himself without a Bird mask. When he does stories on his Instagram feed he is usually wearing that mask.
He doesn’t limit himself to street art.. but I get the feeling that he uses that to get people interested in his other work which includes art instalations and very creative canvas oil paintings.
