Mc Clusk Bell Box
Fairly new Bell Box Mural by Mc Clusk. Don’t remember if I mentioned this but Michael Cavanaugh passed away in the spring time. of this year (2025). I met him a few times and he was always very pleasant to talk with.
Michael was the organizer of these murals. Every year he would focus on a Toronto Ward and have artists paint on the Bell Boxes !
Anyway, it sounds like he did a lot of things.. and I found a tribute on the Council of Canadians website
They plan to continue the Bell Boxes.. but I can’t imagine that will ever be the same. So sad.

Butterfly Laneway 2017
On one of the hottest days of the summer (and yes there were a lot of them) I stumbled on the Butterfly Laneway project that was done in 2017.
Nick Sweetman put this together for the David Suzuki foundation. I didn’t know any of these artists back then.. and now I know most them.
Most of them were still untagged. I think I noticed a couple of new ones. Its too bad this project hasn’t continued.. Hopefully someone will bring it back.

Alleyway Cartoons
There is an alleyway the goes from Charles St to Isabella and there is some artwork featuring all these cartoons. I’ve seen a couple of these on the North and South side of Wellesley Station. There must be others.
The artwork has changed over the years.. and this is the latest version.
Be very careful going down here.. its mostly ok.. but there have been a few stabbings.. and i believe one murder.
Someone wrote on the mural.. here is an excerpt.
“YOU HAVE AN EFDEMIC ON YOUR HANDS MUCH LARGER* THAN VOUR POLITICIANS WITH THERE PLUSH SUITS ON”
